Foundations and endowments are bullish about the U.S. market but are not likely to pump more funds into it this year. They also seem to be veering away from cryptocurrency in 2018, according to a survey of 47 respondents by NEPC.
Roughly 96% of participants said they don’t currently invest in cryptocurrencies and have no plans to do so this year. Only 2% said that they invest in the alternate currency while the rest said that they don’t, but they plan to in 2018.
“Anecdotally, foundations and endowments have been going through informal discussions or educating staff about bitcoin,” Scott Perry, a partner at NEPC, told FER. “They’re probably holding back because of volatility and concerns regarding liquidity and regulation.”
