At NEPC, being of service is in our DNA, be it to our clients or our communities. We accomplish this through firmwide partnerships with non-profits and by actively supporting our employees’ volunteering and giving initiatives and their service on boards. Through our contributions of financial and human capital, we are dedicated to building an inclusive and equitable future for all.

Matching Gift Program

We set up the NEPC Matching Gift Program in 2014 with the goal of supporting local, national and global humanitarian organizations. Since inception, we have matched employee donations to numerous non-profits, including institutions upholding civil rights, providing disaster relief, food banks across the country, and organizations fighting cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and heart and kidney diseases. We also encourage our employees to take part in volunteer programs, offering two days of paid volunteer leave each year.

Charitable Giving

We partner with our clients to support a number of charities. One of our annual events is our American Cancer Society (ACS) Denim Day fundraiser, which raised over $5,000 in 2020 – a new NEPC record! Other yearly programs include the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program’s Sox for Socks drive; Movember to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and suicide; and our United Way campaign, where employees can make a monetary pledge and/or volunteer their time to help assemble literacy kits for children.

We also thanked 29 clients across the Healthcare, Taft-Hartley and Public Fund teams for their service through the COVID-19 pandemic by sending each 100 boxes of assorted Girl Scouts of America cookies for their frontline workers. We made sure to purchase these cookies directly from underserved troops in each client’s community, including a Navajo Nations troop in Arizona and a troop of girls in Chicago living in community foster care.

Golfing for Good

NEPC Chairman and Founder Dick Charlton and wife Maxine, the forces behind the yearly United Way Golf Classic, chaired the 15th annual charitable golfing event in May 2021. It has raised over $4 million since 2006 and focuses on two key initiatives: United Way’s Summer Learning Collaborative (SLC) in the Greater Boston metropolitan area that aims to reverse learning loss in children from lower-income families, and Thrive in 5, a partnership between The City of Boston and United Way to help children succeed in school and in life.
